Advertiser web site only retrieves current 2 months of newspaper dates; earlier dates are put into fee-based archives that start in 1999 and run to current dates.

 Google searches including the search term “Honolulu Advertiser” + a keyword search term have a good chance of finding and returning a desired Advertiser article without having to pay any archive fee.

 Also, if you know the exact date of the article you need, you may type url as:  //the.honoluluadveriser.com/article/2008/Jan/04 (with desired date) to see the list of articles printed on that day and you will be able to click on that article to get free access to it.  This works for articles from March 15, 2001 to present.
